Not elitism, just competitive players.

It makes sense for a casual player like you to like BB more than GG, but in terms of mechanics and difficulty, BB doesn't have shit on GG.

Doesn't mean BB isn't a fun game though. Just not as proficient as GG is. GG has tons of games and follow ups, while BB has technically CT and CS1 while CS2 and Extend are just place holders till BB3 gets out

not the best argument. It doesn't matter if GG has more complex mechanics and gameplay. That doesn't mean it is more competitive. Checkers is simple, yet people could compete over checkers til they die, never stopping in progressing and getting better. In fact, any game where one player wins and one loses can in theory be equally competitive, as long as the game hasn't been rendered pointless with formulas etc. The only thing complex mechanics change is makes the game less likely to be rendered pointless with a systematic/scientific mastery of the mechanics. But BB and GG are equally competitive because the mechanics of each are BOTH complex enough to never be broken by a human being.

The only thing you are truly arguing is that GG is more fun than BB to you because it has more depth.

I like Drum's post

And

I believe I'm biased to BB because it's the first fighter I've ever played for real, and I love the universe and shit. Buuuut I'm interested in trying out more 2D fighters and am already set on getting Skullgirls, so...
I've been considering getting AC+ on the Vita store, even with the coming console version which I would get, but... Idk. I'd like to try GG out anyway, but right now it's just deciding whether to spend $10 on it when atm I only have $50 to spend, and plan on getting whatever BB DLC on it. lol

So anyway. If I do get and like GG, I'll probably check out Dizzy first cuz lolMu

Did I ever say anything different?

And no, they are both competitive, but not equally competitive. BB is just currently more played due to GG being outdated and not having a new sequel.

If you would have ever played GG, you wouldn't have said that, so I am not even going to argue with you.

well yes, you implied, even indirectly said that GG is more competitive than BB. Which isn't true.
I side with you that fighters are generally more enjoyable as games when they are more complex. I am 99% sure I will like GG much more than BB, but they ARE equally competitive, as I explained in my last post.

And I find your dismissive attitude funny

Can you say an orange is better than an apple before you have tried it?

I said that GG is more competitive based because it is alot more complex than BB is, meaning that casual players off BB generally don't like it, nor play it. If something has more complexity to it, you have to invest more time into it to be more proficient at it. While you have to devote time into BB aswell, since it doesn't have the mechanics GG has, there is less to learn. Not to mention that combos are also character specific from character to character. Every character has to change his combo slightly or even entirely depending on who he plays, BB has that, but not for every character.

It's not dismissive either, but you are trying to argue over shoes you haven't put on yet. That's like me arguing over Hakumen when I simply don't know as much as you do because I don't play him.

note we aren't arguing which game is better. Merely that they share equal competitive potential as a game. And again, complexity does not make something more competitive. It may lead to a competitively LARGER player base, but not a more competitive game.

And I can argue on the basis that I know GG and BB are both impossible to master by a human.

I do think I'm gonna buy and download the PSP version of AC+, now. Lol, like BB I may have both console and portable version... lips
Having to learn different 'mechanics'/different play doesn't necessarily pose an issue, but combos being specific to every single character may... And even if I get into it I'm sure BB will remain my focus, but I can give it a shot.
