You mean you really can't just change the color scheme and images in the themes it works on? That'd be ideal in my opinion, and I'd assume that's what would end up being done but if that's not the case... well...

That surprises me, I figured it would be easy to do that based on my experience with forum hosts.

But I've never ran a paid forum, I've only messed with the free ones.

Free ones are generally much easier to edit than paid ones... sadly... ;; Well, most are anyhow. But Admin's looking into it so he might be able to do something similar to that.

Paid ones have a lot more power to change whatever you want but that delves into coding. A free one simply lets u access a basic admin panel to make changes but ultimately is hosted by them.

When you buy advanced hosting they give u FTP access which allows you to link it to a site directly and actually access the forum code. From there you can install mods using various script and change any formatting you would need. Of course messing with the coding without knowing what your doing could cause big problems which is why free forums do not give you access to this. It also would allow you to upload files into their webspace which could very well contain viruses and whatnot. Letting every random person do with would be less than effective for them.

Ah, that all makes sense.

I was just curious haha. Not like I know any of this stuff, I only know about free ones.

For most things its just simply easier to use a free one. As long as you don't need it to do a whole lot of stuff and people are using it so it does not get deleted for inactivity then its all good.
