Jayven comes from a southern more tribal area that is made up of more grasslands and savannas over deserts, though there are a few.
The inhabitants are very tribal and not particularly technological, as they believe that is going to be the bane of existence. Some tribes, however, do keep up with times to govern the tribes and keep peace with the neighboring countries. The tribes vary in looks, notably being skin color. Some give off a very dark skin tone, while others are barely tan. This just gives a sign of origin and not status. The tribes are normally peaceful but skirmishes break out time to time.
Tiara also comes from this land, but it is the northeaster part, closer to the mountains. This place is mainly an area of great faith and worship, to their several gods. Magic is seen as a blessing from the gods to these people, despite what other religions may say. The area has more desert land, but also has a large amount of rivers, and is a main transport area. The people are very peace loving and refuse to go to war and maintain neutrality. Due to the rivers, the area is also very business savvy. Many merchants, artists, marketers, salesmen, and business owners reside here. The cities are small, yet contain many people and animals. The more secluded areas are mage schools, or faith areas.

So basically a mix of Africa + Spain/south America and India + Switzerland

Go crazy this the names >.>

Sounds more like a Middle Eastern area near Northern Africa... But that doesnt really matter. Its all fictional anyways. And don't worry, I've been trying to keep the Names both original and meaningful.

@Squall: Looks good - I love the name of the sea surrounding the Din'ei-island, hee.

Anyhoot, I'm in want of having this stuff edited in:
- Rathil Village should probably be Mount Rathros instead, in my opinion, as the Rathil-village is a mere settlement atop a larger point of interest, so to speak.
The note on them being those who control nature as though it were an extension of themselves is probably more befitting the Din'ei as well. They're warriors, really, in contrast to the Din'ei who are more druidical.

There aren't merchants among them either - they're strictly kill-for-hire or political representants, though the number of merchants might rise as they get introduced more into the world. Uhhr. There's also the thing about me imagining Mount Rathros to not be in what might be called elven-territory - it's a large mountain located in the middle of the continent with a large and ferocious forest hindering it from being claimed by the bordering kingdoms.

- The island that the Din'ei live upon should be named Mav Din instead of Din'arda.

You got the placement of the island spot-on, though! So yeah. Keep up the good work!

EDIT:
Question! Do you imagine the Silm'ara-name for the sea as a "standard elven tongue"-name, or. Yeah. Because the way I've imagined it, the Din'ei and the Rathil-elves speak related languages, but they're far from the same, and I think most surrounding elven tribes/communities would speak different languages. Mainly asking it seeing as I seem to have established near-dibs on elves so far, lol.

I have to be honest, I derived the names from Tolkien Elvish, and changed some a little. Arda = Land, so Din'arda would be the Land of Din, which is the "surname" of the Din'ei. I couldn't find Sea, so i just removed the heavy sounding letter in Arda, D, to make it sound lighter - like water is lighter than earth, Ara. Thus, Silme = Starlight, Ara = Sea, or the Starlight Sea/Sea of Starlight.

I did'nt know you actually had a name, but I just used what was in your profile post incase Rathil Village was actually the name.

As far as languages... I'm assuming you want the Rathil to be more focused on -os, -us, -il, -ous, -ar, and other endings such as that, as in mostly ending in consonants or rougher sounding endings. While the Din'ei have more of an elegant tongue that ends in vowels that sound "lighter" and nicer to pronounce, like -'ei, -ia, -'d/a, -'ka. Theyre for the most part the same, but words usually change based on the native toungue, for example...

Rathil Vernacular:

Silmar - Sea of Starlight
Dinaros - Land of Din/'ei
Dinil - People of Dinaros... the Din'ei.
Rathil - The people of Rathil.
Rathros - The place of

Din'ei Vernacular:

Silm/'/ara - Sea of Starlight
Din/'/arda -Land of Din/'ei
Din'ei - People of Din'arda
Rath'ei - The people of Rathil.
Rath/'/arda - The place of the Rathil.

In any cases where it doesnt include a Race, Person, or Species, the /'/ isn't particularly required.

So if with that explanation of it, if you still wanna change the names of the Din'ei area, thats cool. I'll edit in Mount Rathros right now.

I feel clever now, thanks to recognizing the Tolkien Elvish, lol.

Um, I'd still prefer it if you changed the names. Basically, this is as far as I've gotten with their languages:

Mav Din - Mother Din. Din is their Mother-goddess, as they worship the Earth, and the island is thus named Mother Din because it takes care of them and gives them what they need.

Din'ei - Children of Din
Din'il - Prophets of Din. 'il more or less means children of a more magical prospect, which thus translates into Prophets of Din. This is the name of the shamanistic sect that are the spiritual advisors to the more common Din'ei.

Mount Rathros was a legit name for the place before the Rathil-tribe came there. Due to stuff that has happened in the shared history of these two tribes, the Rathil then took the name - Rath - and ended it in 'il, again thanks to shared history, which then over time grew into Rathil without the '. There's a reason for the mountain's name as well, which will probably get mentioned at some point.

In keeping with how I myself see the languages, Sea of Starlight for the Rathil would be Evosthilsfär, and the Din'ei equivalent is Evosthilfäu.

Evosthil is starlight(Evos = stars, thil = light), and sfär/fäu is sea, translating it as Starlight Sea in both languages. Both languages are based on what I think fits/sounds pretty/makes sense, and then I invent more accordingly. So um. Please change 'em!

Thanks!
And just in case you forgot; Din'arda should be edited as Mav Din instead.
