Guard Libra sucked for 2 reasons:

1 - It was a push/pull system. It made it hard to TRY to Guard Crush someone because the meter was always going back and forth.

2 - It was a bar graph instead of units, which made it hard to judge when the Guard Crush was going to occur.

The best thing about Primers is how they're incorporated into the Burst system. Saving both Bursts for the 3rd round isn't always the smartest move. Using both Bursts will leave you with a single Primer (Unless you're Tager), and most people never realize how badly they just crippled themself. It definately adds another layer of strategy to the game that Guard Libra never could.

No, it just means you get screwed while trying to guard when you shouldn't be screwed :U

The bursts already can be baited and punnished, having the primer decrease it pointles because....primers shouldn't even be a part of the game.

Guard Libra system is infinitely better, if they simply MUST have a guard breaking system then they might aswell go back to that but I'd really love it if it just disappeared alltogether.

Soul Calibur's guilty of the same thing, if people are blocking you too much that's YOUR fault for not mixing them up.....

Guard Primers work, whether you think they do or not.

SMART opponents know when to Barrier Block and when to not. You'll never be Guard Crushed if you use your barrier when necessary. Just because people are too stupid to either:

1 - Break out with DP/5A/Backdash/etc...
2 - Counter Assault
3 - Barrier Block against Primer stealing moves

doesn't mean the system is somehow broken or unnecessary. The system forces you to think about what you're doing, and that's a good thing. It's part of what makes BlazBlue a great fighting game.

Except when they hit you with two or so breaker moves in a short period of time and your barrier meter is completely gone. So now you get guard broken and take more damage, how awesome.

Guards primers don't work just because you think they do either, all they do is award people with free combos they didn't earn through a mixup but because they hit me with move x during a blockstring.

Except that nobody has only 2 Primers. Everyone has at least 4. The only time they don't is if the Burst. Which, as I've previously said, is a double-edged sword. If you want to save your ass now, is it worth the loss of Primers?

And to my knowledge, nobody is capable of breaking 4 Primers in a single, inescapable block string.

Oh yeah, and when you're about to lose your last Primer, you get visual cues, and your last Primer is indicated in RED. So there's NO EXCUSE to say that you didn't realize it was about to happen.

Which is dumb, considering Bursting is already a double edged sword because of how it can be blocked and punnished. Take out guard primers and it still remains a double edged sword, shows how pointless guard primers are.

Guard primers don't regenerate immediately, its possible to get out of a blockstring, then get into another and lose more.

Oh yeah, visual cues are so nice but once you lost your barrier you can't do anything.

Not only that but Counter Assaulting also causes you to lose primers now, well isn't that nice? Considering the two characters I play would almost always use Counter Assault to get out of trouble because they have no DP. So say I had to burst to avoid being killed and then Counter Assaulted to get an opponent off me, now it'll take one move to guard break me if I don't waste my barrier meter.

Anything that punishes you for blocking too much is retarded and that's simply how I feel about it.

Just don't get in block strings then, be more evasive. That is part of why this fighting game is considered difficult.

Quite frankly I think we should go back to about CS2's style with the primers.

People don't get guard broken enough in extend.
