Good to hear that other people also need a lot of time. I thought I just suck at beat 'em ups.

I'm still thinking about who I want to main. I can't decide between Makoto and Hazama ... and I'm also not sure if I really shouldn't main Tsubaki. I like all three characters. :/ I also like Mu-12 but well ... she's a little hard to play.

Proficient? as in getting basic combos and bnb down? maybe a month...
learning advanced combos and tactics against spicific characters... closer to 6 months.
knowing everything about the character... almost there but still going.

I'd say that "Mastering" a character is a rather impossible task, as even when you are quite proficient with your character and consider yourself a "Master", there will be other "Masters" to learn from. There is always improvement to be made simply because you are human.
