Against day one players? Sure, why not? It'll teach them a valuable lesson.

You mean that they have no idea what they're doing? Good lesson to teach OH WAIT-

But bubble oki isn't instantly bad. And while we're on the subject, neither is wake-up DP. Just because something only works 50% of the time, and may never work against a high level player, doesn't mean it shouldn't exist in your repertoire. Human opponents are immensely diverse, and some things work amazingly well against some, and won't work at all against others. Teaching someone to be adaptable is MUCH more valuable than teaching them a strict black and white: This is good and this is bad, oh, and study your frame data, approach. Not only that, but a bubble oki is simple enough to learn AND understand, and it's much more helpful to teach in tiers than all at once. i.e. learn how to play like a lvl 10 player first, then a level 20, and so on until you're gainfully competitive.

I've been playing BlazBlue since shortly after CT came out, and I was a COMPLETE n00b to fighting games. I started with literally ZERO experience and I had NO outside help. I just spent time in training to build muscle memory and time on Ranked learning strategies. Mirror matches allowed me to see what other people were doing, and when I saw something new, I'd take note and practice it in training. Not once did anyone ever say, "That's trash, quit doing that." So everything I knew I just took at face value. And even through my own personal epiphanies of "Hey, that doesn't really work," I still have all the personal experience of my level 1 and up tactics. And honestly, it's the high level players that trip up when you throw them a left field n00b tactic. Something so simple like jump-buffering a 720, only to watch them dash right into it.

Also, I never said bubble oki is instantly bad, you really need to learn to read what I type. I said if they won't respect it, bubble oki is bad, because the way you don't respect it is by rollteching, which is punishable as long as you don't use the bubble. See, 'cus denying yourself damage to NOT adapt is what you're saying to do, while also saying you need to adapt, see why I'm arguing yet?

Also, about the tiers, your fundamentals will come in time, basic knowledge can be learned all at once. I'm not talking pro one frame link combos, I just said to keep an eye on your situation.

And PLEASE go into a match against anyone decent and try for an empty jump 720, if you don't get anti-aired, then I'll be very impressed. Scrubs like to think that because they saw Gamerbee walk into a wake up DP from Daigo scrub tactics work, it's not true. You can't beat pro players by mashing DP because scrub tactics are inherently bad, not just disrespectful, but BAD. Try beating any Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, or KoF player with a ton of DPs and see if you don't just get safe jumped to death.

Except I don't play Blazblue :U
Play me offline in SF or Gear and I'll show you how scrub tactics don't work against someone who isn't even good at the game, but can beat scrub tactics :P

So why should anybody listen to you, then? :|

Especially about character specifics?

Because I know fighting games as a whole, and because Snipingsnipe is my best bud, and he's a Plat main, he's also infinitely better at her, and fighting games than you are.

You're going to go into one of your so called "dick measuring contests" with me and use your friend's dick?

I mean, I'm probably not better than you at Blazblue, I'd say almost definitely worse even. So you can enjoy that little victory, but Snipe is extremely knowledgeable about Plat, and I talk with him about her all the time, so I know random bits about her, enough to give some basics. Calling me out on not playing the game is like calling out my buddy Papstr when he told some dude to stop getting antiaired, you don't even need to play games to know the obvious there. Also, yeah, I'm fully confident the source of my information is better than you, so I brought him up in the "dick measuring contest". I bet if I quoted Xie and said he's better than you, you wouldn't bat an eye.

Haku please send my greetings to Snipe:)

And you guys sure are good friends!

I might start using this thread to cuz i played Plat a bit but gave up on her, i feel like picking her up. (remembering all the weapon combos might be hard but i'd like to become atleast avarage with her)

And swordiris i have the same problem haha ive only learned Ragna and some Hazama (Hazama through vids) so learning new char is kinda hard.
