Firstly let me introduce myself. As you can see I am new to this forum. Nice to meet you all.

What brought me to this forum, in the first place, is this little dilemma of mine. I am a big, big fan of fighting games. And one guy on my friend list was actually playing it, when he asked me if I have it or not. Naturally I said I didn't. He went on to recommending this game to me.

And it wasn't really the first time I've heard about this game. I see people mentioning it, here and there on different forums.

Being the curious guy I am. I just had to do some research on this. And tbh I was a little surprised at first, due to the animation style (graphics). But after a while it looked quite good. Excellent even.

I like the fact everybody says it's an advanced game. Currently playing Tekken 6. And it seems any clown can smash a few buttons and snatch the game, just like that.

I also have Street Fighter IV which is my favourite one. But I have a slight feeling Blazblue can oust it as my number one favourite (assuming my feeling's right).

I went to Gamestation and Game, asking for this game. But the staff never even heard of the game.

Finally getting to the point. As always there's a little doubt when trying something new. And that's just what Blazblue is. I have zero experience on it.
Is this game really worth getting?

I'm all but set for the purchase. Just need someone to put away that little doubt.

Although, I'll probably buy it anyway. haha

Naturally, we'd say yes.

Also, if you thought Street Fighter 4 is good, prepare to be blown away in every way possible.

I'm guessing you live in England as well? ;w; My friend had the same problem, the staff hasn't heard of BBCS and didn't know if they were shipping it in.
Just saying.

Compared to Tekken and Street fighter, BlazBlue beats both in my opinion.

If you play BlazBlue then get ready for more fast paced matches compared to Tekken or Street fighter, it has alot more features aswell. Such as if you get hit in the air you can tech(or wake up) in mid air to prevent to get combod to death. Unlike in Tekken and Street fighter you can only tech or wakeup when you land on the ground but in BlazBlue depening on the combo the opponent does to you, you can tech mid air.

There is also throw teching (not sure if Tekken has that) and air throws which both Street Fighter and Tekken doesn't have.

Also the combos in BlazBlue, compared to Tekken and Street Fighter, are a hell lot longer and slightly more difficult to pull off if you start playing the game. Eventually (like in every fighting game) it's muscle memory and it won't be a problem anymore.

What is outstanding in BlazBlue is the character roster, every character has his own fighting style. Such as you can pick Lambda and shoot swords from across the screen to lock down your opponent OR you can pick the slow but powerful Tager who is a giant Robot who can do alot of damage and traps. If you want a fast character who is up in your face you have Ragna or Noel.

My final word, I did play Street Fighter aswell but when I switched over to BlazBlue I never wanted to go back to Street Fighter EVER again.

hehe Nice one. Will defintely get it now. Took my a while to get used to Super Street Fighter IV. But based on what I've seen and what you guys are telling me, it'll take even longer mastering Blazblue.
No problem. All part of the game. Love a challenge. I will reap the rewards later.

By the way, seeing as the shops are limited in supply. Or haven't even heard about it.
Where is the cheapest and most reliable place to purchase it from? I know Amazon for one. But they seem quite expensive.

Hmm...Why don't you try the playasia one on the front page when you enter bb.com?

If you found any redeeming aspect in Tekken, you'll most likely find something here.

However, don't expect something like other fighters, since BB is surprisingly different. If anything, I would rent it first to try it out. BB isn't a game that can be understood in a week, but if you like what you played during the rent, then you'll definitely like the rest.

I can back up what people have said so far. You shouldn't be dissapointed. Especially if those are the games you're comparing BB to.

I would give a word of warning though, even though you're expecting it to be more intensive than SFIV and Tekken (and it is), there might be a period of about one or two days where all you can do is go "OMG WTF HOW DOES I... I DON'T EVEN...", and just can't seem to nail the basics off the bat. And just don't be psyched out by that. It will take a moment to get used to, but after that you'll love it.

if u like fast paced matches, anime style, digital novel style stories, lots of depth, competitive online matches, etc, BBCS is an excellent game.

I think u'll be way more impressived by the competition level, and netcode in this game, and even the storyline.
Infact I would go as far to say that it beats tekken6 and SSF4 in every way.
Though prepare to get used to certain mechanics like each character's Drive attacks, bursts, roll recovers, air dash, much more mixups, etc.
