Entry #1:
Dear diary,
Its awful I can't date these diaries, for the information within them is classified. If anyone were to find them, the connections of dates and events would cause calamity. However If I want to keep sane, keeping these diaries is probably the only way to do so.
I've lost everything but my thoughts; My identity, my innocence, my soul. It was all replaced. "Number Twenty-three" is what I am now. My public image can't be revealed in these diaries, again, because there would be massive uproars at the discovery of what I am. It would seem I was made to replace the original "me", or to replace the replacement. Who knows.
I've started keeping these diaries recently, however the span of the events linked to them probably date back a few decades ago. My assignment... No, my new purpose, is to be a scapegoat. Probably one of the biggest in history. There are at least twenty-two others like me, or were, and now I'm joining them.
Anyways... I've got to meet someone for the financing of the next... project. The targets have been aimed for by my new partners since the Clinton Administration, and I've been sent to assure the destruction of it this time around... This job is disgusting.

Dear Diary,
We've come up with a complete plan. These gullible fanatics are willing to do anything to complete the mission... I guess that's why we chose to infiltrate them. Anything is possible if death is your endgame. A strike from the air, using their own units, no less... Its sickening, yet genius...

Entry #5:
Dear Diary,
I watched it on the news... What have I done? And being forced to act as though it was a great event? 3000 people or more... gone. Establishing my new persona has been completely against my nature. I suppose it's my fault I got into this mess, though. My family is guaranteed an easy life, and if its in the best interest of... Sigh, I guess I have to do this.
I'm to make a public announcement in 2 minutes, so this will be a short entry. I feel sick, and sitting in these caves doesn't help the situation. All this was to be able to wage war on "them". I hope it was worth it... I wonder what the purpose of all this is.

Dear Diary,
Im being hunted... Well, Ive been hunted. But I suppose that's the point. Their news networks and government claim that my current location is unknown, probably in Afghanistan or Pakistan... They even have conspiracies of me being dead, but the ones at the top know. They've always known. We're currently hiding out, and there isn't much else to do until what I've done has reached fruition. I've had no contact with the people who put me here, and more and more I feel isolated.

Dear Diary,
One year later... I'm going to be making a video announcement that it was me who had taken their... Ugh... its sickening to think of still. Even with the buffer of time, my heart aches for those who died.
Thats the only thing thats been hard, though. My new role has been filled quite easily, now, and I've gained quite a bit of insight. Daily tasks are simple. I don't feel a thing anymore. Truly, I've lost myself in this world. There is no going back.

Its been so long. Things here are finally starting to pick up. We've been moving around a lot, switching between around three different places, of course I can't say the details.
Its funny what kinds of conspiracy theories people come up with when faced with uncertainty... Some say I'm dead now. Soon enough... soon enough. I'll be put at trial for my sins, eventually.

Dear Diary,
Its been almost a decade. 9 years have passed since I became their target... Even longer since I became a facade of a human being. Very interesting things have started happening.
For one, there was an explosion off the coast at some oil rig... Hah, haven't I hear about this before? I think so... Strings are always pulled in situations such as these. Their new president has declared restrictions on off shore oil drilling because of it. Hahaha... All the more reason for the people here to charge more for theirs.
Thats the plan though. Now they have a reason to continue their movements, all they need is something to happen that gives them a reason to interfere.
Well, I'm going to sleep. At least weve been in the same place for a while now, under the protection of the government.

Dear Diary,
They have now started placing roots of democracy here... I wonder if it will grow? This had to of been the point of me being here. If I give them a reason to come... they can "force reboot" the whole area, right?
South of us, there are a few countries now revolting... Events have started to become very chaotic out here... Not like it wasn't before. I guess planned chaos is better than absolute chaos.

Dear Diary,
I've been informed that they are now looking to cease my operational status... Its been a decade, now. How quaint. They gave the go-ahead to one of their teams a few months ago. Its going to be over soon. The instructions of what to do have been engrained into my brain since I joined.
I've got to set it up as though i was trying to "repel the attackers"... Silly. It all is. The IFF tracker ive held for so long will finally come in handy, letting them know not to take a shot at me. With a little make up here and there, I'm sure I'll make a fitting corpse...

Post-Operational Report:
To whom it is concerned,
The installation of Agent Twenty-three, replacement of Agent Twenty-two in our Middle Eastern affairs, has come to fruition as of May 1, 2011. His operational duties have been completed, and hereby ceased.
Due to the fragility of the operation, said agent was sent to complete isolation, with completely new papers and documentation, giving no clue as to his true identity, per standard operational procedure. Agent is under surveillance in a low population town in the midwest.
This operation has been a huge success. The instigation of our own people in order to invade and topple particular governments in the Middle East has been a goal for quite some time now. Of course, due to prior operations, namely those of Agents Thirteen and Seventeen, we instilled those very governments to cultivate a higher radical thinking in that area.
Currently, the area is in chaos. Some governments are in revolution, and others have had the roots of democracy planted. It is only a matter of time until the entire sector is cleared of its current cancer. Recently, the Israelite state has been our next target. We seek to instigate the rest of its neighbors into a war, thus giving us the ability to completely flip the tables. We are projected to have around twenty years or so until completion.
Operation: Tree of Life, Status: Ongoing until further notice.
