The song was actually pretty good, they could have done it justice with a bit of decent animation instead of just character profiles, IMO.

and yeah, CS1 theme was pretty nice IMO. the opening itself kinda sucked though.

Also I prefer Soukyuu no Hikari over Hekira no Sora, and less so over Shinsou. I don't like Iconoclast more than Soukyuu but I'm not sure I like Soukyuu more either.
