[Lady]
The woman who often badgered and badgered Dante about the oodles of money he owned her, was busy in the back. She was looking through a number of unorganized files. Well that's what she said she'd do. Instead, Mary just found herself sitting on a cabinet, a hand cradling her hand, as she stared at the single shelf that towered over her. Papers-all bunched together-sat in an endless line, offering no comfort of being organized or given any love since Dante was last in here.
When last Lady was here, she had found this room as more of a dump. It was as if Dante took his bills, recites, forums, and letters to this room, opened the door, and just tossed them in. Lady was looking for the bathroom, actually, and accidentally opened this door to be assaulted by this mound of papers. It was like an avalanche, but smelled much worse. Of course she began to scold Dante about his untidiness, and of course, he just shrugged it off. Eventually, she got on his nerves enough to force him to pick it up. She sat outside the door, gave him an hour, and if he didn't make it at least somewhat tidy...another thousand dollars was added to the money he owed her. Yeah, it was harsh, but she didn't really plan on penalizing him like that. It was just to get him moving...which it did so wonderfully.
Too bad his attention to detail was rather…lacking. He just stuffed whatever stack of papers he could into whatever hole he could jam them into. It wasn't exactly thoughtful, but Lady got what she wanted technically, and that was enough to make her relatively happy. And once Dante was done, she had given the man a smirk, before once again reciting that he owed her money still, then proceeded off to the ladies room. But that was easily a year and a half ago.
Now the stacks of paper were old, brown, covered in dust and cobwebs, and some were torn up. The ink on a lot of them was faded, and mold actually grew on some pages. In only a year and a half. Yeah, Dante wasn't exactly tidy, but Lady found herself utterly perplexed by how Dante was able to manage this. It was as if Dante had tossed them into an old broken down time-machine, and instead of sending them through time, the machine simply aged the papers as if they sat in a cave for about thirty years. And once he saw it didn't work, he just put them back for her to find.
Lady sighed, kicking a foot against the box idly.
"That lazy bastard…" Is all the muttered to herself before standing up. She straightened her white, sturdy, and a bit revealing outfit. The lack of clothing was more for mobility and comfort than to catch the eyes of some good looking boys…even though that's what it did more often than not. And that very thought sent a chill up Lady's spine.
"Ugh…" As the chill went through her, she heard the door slam open, and heard someone yelling about. Almost sounded like Dante…well…Dante back in the day. Not the Dante she knew now, but the one she met back at that dreadful tower. Picking up Kalinna Ann at the door, Lady left this horrid room and out to the main office. Once there, she stood at the doorway in the back of the store. Then she saw who it was…Nero. That kid. Yup…Dante back in the day alright.
"Here." Lady announced just as Nero voiced his wonder for the woman. She took a few steps towards the boys and Trish, adjusting Kalinna Ann slightly, keeping the rocket launcher tight against her back.
"So you got a job for Dante, then? Maybe he actually start paying me back…" She muttered this, giving Dante a glaring sideways glance.
[Vergil]
Blood.
Bits.
Armor.
"Hrmph…"
The clean sound of steal against rock.
A line of blood tracing the swing of Yamato.
"Pitiful…"
Already he was being attacked by demons…and he just got back.
"Hah!"
Who were these knights that attacked him? Him and the demons? Were they demon hunters? An odd choice of uniform. But they went down just as easily as the demons they came to destroy. He expected hunters to be a bit more challenging than this, especially those as well equipped as them. But they just became as much of a mess as their prey. He pushed his hair back. Blood really ruined his hair.
"Dante…" He whispered his brother's name harshly. He sent him here. Nearly killed him…and then again when under the control of Mundus. Perhaps he ought to see if he can find that accursed brother of his and properly thank him for returning Vergil's freedom.
Click.
Yamoto was sheathed once more. The remaining demons and knights had run off after watching the Son of Sparda make quick work of their companions. That didn't bother Vergil at all. He had more important things to do than to play with these pathetic creatures. He had to find his brother…find out why he was able to return to the mortal world, who released these demons…and get back that amulet…and Force Edge. Then he would have the power of his father again.
Just as he should.
