The year is 2294, mankind has been stretching his legs out, to the living space of the solar system. Earth is in a fragile state, global warming wrecking havoc, food riots are common, terrorism is picking up. Civil wars are raging in China, the United States is impoverished as a drought hits. Europe is in chaos as Britain floods, Denmark vanishing beneath the sea. Overcrowding is a prime concern for the EU, a now transcontinental union covering north Africa, and every nation in Europe.
The Middle East is dying off, poverty hitting from the oil fields going dry nearly a century ago. Africa is managing, but barely. South America has unified into a league of nations using lithium – the new fuel source for the world. Australia has actually seen increased rainfall, turning the outback into lush farmland.
The United Nations fell in the late 21st century, to be revived as the Confederated Nations in 2140. The Confederated Nations Space Division has helped push forward with space travel, and in 2200 man first lived on Mars.
With nearly 14 billion on Earth, and 2 billion on colonies, Mars has become a boomworld of miners and those wanting out of Earth's poverty.
Australia leads the space race, now. Japan as a close ally, the two have sent man to the edge of the solar system and back, and the United States is attempting to use the asteroid belt to mine itself out of poverty. Mars is not only a mine world now – great underground greenhouses are across the planet, feeding nearly 7 billion people by themselves.
Ganymede is the biggest outer solar system base, with the CNSD having a major outpost there – Outpost Prometheus. However, some renegades have stolen ships and vanished, living on the life support systems and raiding other ships and occasionally hitting outposts. They are the pirates of space (and before you ask, you can join up with them later on)
You're part of the Promethean squad, investigating a strange anomaly detected by the sensors. You're also new to Ganymede – welcome aboard.
We have a level system for this game, too. Basically, every level you get 5 points for your SPECIALs, (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck). They do basically what you'd expect – stronger can lift more, perceptive can see/hear better, endurance lets you run or whatever more, charisma makes it easier to persuade NPCs, Intelligence lets you use computers and understand technology better, Agility lets you be faster, Luck boosts everything and also makes it so you can survive things better. You start with five in each, and 5 to spend. And you level up after every mission. This way, we'll have specialized people. Each time you level up I'll edit in your new SPECIALs.

He wears the EnviroSuit usually, but takes it off when in the outpost (which isn't often). When not in it, he wears a t-shirt with a video game image usually, and a pair of loose pants. NATIONALITY: American on the base through the CNSD program, joined up to get his family out of poverty with the bonus income.
