Would you say that Lambda has tools for most situations? I know she lacks some sort of meterless DP, but i think that she is overall reliable because, as a zoner, she can deal damage from anywhere on screen, has good pressure, 2 anti-airs and good normals. plus, you can hold 5C for all 8 hits now rather than smash it, what is a big plus for me.
I am asking this because i want to pick her up. I want to know what she has and doesn't have, and how reliable she is in most situations.
While having great offensive tools, Lambda often finds herself unable to do two large confirms in a row unless she has heat. Most of her damage comes with having at least 50 heat, and unfortunately, her heat is often her only defensive tool so you have to find a balance. She was like this in CS2 as well, except now that her corner carry was nerfed a bit due to repeat proration being placed on Cavalier, she doesn't find herself owning everyone in the corner all the time unless you make efficient use of your tools. If you land a crouching confirm, even if it's off of a 2A or 5A, I would still recommend confirming into (Stuff)->4B->2DD->214A->2147D->66->6A->6C->236C->Stuff since this pushes people fairly far. However, although meter management is important and deciding when to go for certain confirms and when to save the meter for counter assaults and reversal supers is your call. (Her meter gain has been buffed slightly in this version on her A and B normals though)
She has one of the best neutral games in Blazblue also, with the ability to shut down most approaches with her 6D, 2D, 5D, 214D and 236D with the right timing. And if people get past that, she has two good anti-airs and the ability to create more space with her jump cancellable 6D and 2D if they block it.
As for close range tools, she has amazing mixup, especially on 236D oki. She has 2147D(C) mixup as well, which can lead into overheads, lows, green throws, TRMs, or throw baits with 214A. Or any of those options but you can make fake versions of them and go into other ones. However outside of her mixup capacity her defensive options at close range can be somewhat limited and you'll find yourself constantly hating matchups like Bang (who has good mobility and pressure, and the ability to shut down Lambda's neutral game with his chalkboard eraser nails of doom) and Ragna/Rachel if they manage to lock you down because it's really hard to get out of corner situations without spending the heat for a counter assault (implying your opponent knows what they're doing).
Overall, she's a bit of a glass cannon in my opinion. A balanced glass cannon. She can dish out huge damage with the right circumstances and keep people away if she feels like it, but has lacking defensive options and finds herself relying on her heat a lot. Which is alright, but it might take some getting used to since you play Bang.
