Please read this, previous announcement, first.

As those who read the above topic know, the "subsilver2" and "prosilver" themes fix polls completely. However, after doing some tests I've come to realize that they can also fix our growing spambot issue. How? Well, lemme give some context.

A few months ago, we installed reCaptcha as our anti-spambot measure. And, whilst it was in order, we had... only like, three or four spambots every week, which was good, meant less clutter and stuff.
When the forum was updated, reCaptcha stopped working and I couldn't really figure out why. Well, now I know why- it doesn't work with our default theme, AcidTech. At all.

I've done some tests and it works fine with Prosilver and Subsilver2. And on working out how to set the default theme in a way that doesn't override AcidTech... buuut... basically, if I set Subsilver 2 as the default theme, it's default for everyone and no one can change it at all...

So yeah. Ether we stick with AcidTech and keep getting lots of spambots. Or we go with subsilver2 or prosilver (subsilver is nicer looking in my opinion) and have nearly-no spambots, and fixed poll voting all across the site.

I'm going to message BlazBlueAdmin about putting in more themes, ones that work with reCaptcha, but iirc he's quite busy with work so it might take a long while. Nether me, nor ChainRevolver, have access to editing the actual forum coding or installing new themes, so we can't do it.

Advice, information, and feedback is needed from users, moderators... anyone, cause this basically effects the default theme for the site.

Gonna set subsilver2 as the default theme for a few days to see how it affects the flow of spambots. I hope no one minds.

I'll go ahead and say i'm fine with whatever the majority decides. I prefer acidtech but if it's easier on other people to use a different one i'm cool with it.

Also, with subsilver and prosilver, with get quick reply boxes. I only just noticed.

But yeah I've just gone and PM'd admin, found some new themes which are akin to the old one, and asked if he could help us out or maybe install some;; We might need a new banner but I'm sure that'd be easy.

BB.com doesn't feel the same without AcidTech. Hopefully we can get BBAdmin to do something about it, but I guess we'll have to do with this theme because the amount of spambots was ridiculous

We can have acidTech back but it means more work for the Moderators. More spambots. Way, waaaaaaaaay more... I don't think there's a version of acidTech that corresponds with our forum version, so you can blame the creators of acidTech I guess xD;

Edit: This layout is harder to use. It's harder to tell what's new and what's not. Plus I can't a "Mark All Forums Read" button anymore. Does it still exist?

I'm not happy with the current layout, but I'm not happy with spambots either. So......we need a new theme...

I go to another forum daily that uses this same default silver theme. I vote for acidtech because it's confusing me which forum I am on now. I have to remember to act like a complete tool here and a normal person there. I can't do that with this theme. My whole life is literally crumbling apart right now because of this theme.
