This is just a discussion of how you think Jin will play in the game.

Honestly, he looks to me like a cross-up between a Johnny-esque and May fighting style.

His projectiles seem less useful than Ky's in GG, but it's probably too early to tell at the moment. however, I think he will end up having decent mixup, at least from the gameplay views.

Hmm although I agree he has some Johnny elements, where did you get the May idea?

And personally I think Jin will be a pretty balanced character like Ky, probably a bit more concentrated on speed though.

Also why would his projectiles be less useful? I believe Jin has a wider variation of projectile usage than Ky (small projectile, 3 hit projectile, 3-way aerial projectile and freeze effect)

[Edit] Ahs I see, thank you for explaining Lord_Phoenix and Hecatom.

jin is a fussion between ky, millia and jhony, and maybe may, for the way he rides one of his projectiles, i think that he will be ending a very unique char

The may is from him riding the projectiles, which seems to be the best way for him to close on an enemy. I think that it can or should be canceled into a combo, but we'll see what arcsys as in mind later.

what I mean is that the projectiles don't push Jin as far back as it did with Ky's projectiles. I just don't see him being able to keep pressure up with projectile cancel - continue like in the old versions. Also I think some projectiles are a bit slow, like the 45 degree in the air one. It might make it better defensively but offensively it doesn't seem as useful.

Also no Vapor-thrust like move like Ky's from what I've seen. Tell me if i'm wrong there however, which I very well could be.

I have throughly enjoy playing as Jin. He is a quicker character with a great variety of moves. The projectiles are amazing, 4 ground (236 + A/B/C/D) which all have different dmg, start up and fly speeds to throw off your opponent, and the 236 + D with 25% heat guage is a larger Ice sword that hits multiple times and freezes. In the air the same inputs counterparts are, (A) weak that shoot downwards at about a 15 degree angle, then (B) with a 40 degree, (C) with a straight forward and (D) which is all three and freezes (uses 25% HG). So you really need not worry about Jin's projectile game, its even better than Noel's and she uses guns. ^_^

The Millia-Rage style Ice dashs are always useful for traveling, sometimes for offense, (ive noticed that if i try to use it for both they often guard, which i don't mind so much, or evade, which defeated the purpose of closing in on them). I have a bone to pick with the Drive (D) variant, as it freezes on the inital strike and that is annoying since they all have a neutral input follow-up. Any hit will break a frozen opponent. Or they can burst to break free of a freeze, but bursting in this game is hazardous, (One burst per match and after it puts you in a state of "DANGER" where you take 2x multiplier on dmg.) so i try to bait them into bursting.

I still need to get a true flow, right now its more in small sequences, but I feel very confident in my enjoyment of Jin.

Perhaps someone here can tell me, what is with Jin's abnormal change in pitch when he fights Ragna.

Obviously, I've heard the "He's gay" theory, but I've also heard that he is just trying to mock him.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, watch the opening to the fight.

Thanks! That seems to fit what I initially thought (that he reverts to a child-like state due to a somewhat troubled past).

Hello,
i know it's always a hairy thing judging a game which is not jet released on home consoles by just seeing gameplay videos. But from what I have seen, Jin has a considerable amount of very powerfull melee and range attacks. It seems as wherever hes positioned he can force his opponent onto the defensive. It's kind of sad seeing Ragna or Bang players desperately trying to counter Jins onslaught of fast-paced attacks and every mistake of them being punished by a buttonmashing Jin.
Is anyone sharing my opinion or did I see the wrong videos?
